Stepping Stone Falls

 - Click on image to view panorama
Stepping Stone Falls in West Greenwich, Rhode Island was completely unknown to me just a few weeks ago. Thanks Andrea for telling me about his beautiful place. This is the first of many that were shot and will be shot here. I stopped here after work and shot several panoramas.  This place has a beautiful spirit and I will return when I have more time and can relax and explore.

Things I Make at Work

A few have asked just what I do at work so here is a quick 1 minute smattering of some of the intros, bumpers, animations and such that I sprinkle in the video pieces I make.

Recent Video projects

I have been working on several video projects recently as a very small part of a major piece for my good friend Koji. The above clip puts a second sun in the sky.  This  was a difficult track as there is little reference to track  on the horizon.  I ended up hand tracking this clip which was a very tedious process. I did several short clips (3 - 6 seconds) taking still images and disassembling them in Photoshop and then adding 3D movement in After Effects. Here is an example. Koji's best know work is "Virtual JFK" a compelling documentary about what might have happened if JFK had lived. Rent it on Netflix.

Foggy Morning, Hope Valley

Click on image to view panorama
It was a beautiful foggy morning this morning on my way into work so I drove down to the Hope Valley village and snapped a few shots. I am not certain but I believe this is the center of town.

Easter Sunrise Celebration

During Communion
Easter Sunrise Celebration at Swan Point Cemetery this foggy Easter morning was put on by several community churches including Central Congregational Church, Community Church of Providence, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Providence Presbyterian Church and St. Martin's Episcopal Church. Swan Point Cemetery is a beautiful cemetery on Providence's historic  East Side along the banks of the Seekonk River.

Haines Memorial State Park

Haines Memorial State Park from Edward Huff on Vimeo.

I captured this 'sunset' at Haines Park in East Providence during Ben's Scout meeting on Monday night. It looked promising but then the sky closed in and the fog rolled in and as you can see - not too spectacular. In the last second or so Carol, Grace and I walk across the scene. I shot this at one frame every 12 seconds with a 10.5mm lens. The 'pan' was done in After Effects.

St Anne's Exterior

The exterior of St Anne's Church in Fall River, on South Main Street. What a magnificent structure and it can be seen for the other side of the river and from all over Mt. Hope Bay.

St. Anne's - Fall River, MA

Click on image to view panorama

St. Anne's Shrine in Fall River, Massachusetts. Shot this today as we were returning from lunch.
This is a 35 exposure HDR image blended in PTGui and adjusted in Photomatix.  Although I am fairly pleased with this shot, I would like to go back and reshoot and get a few more angles and see it in different lighting conditions. This is a magnificent building. As I was leaving the church I spotted this curiosity.

In the Kitchen

I shot this one during the wine tasting while everyone was in the other room eating birthday cake. This is a 35 exposure HDR image processed in both PTGui and Photomatix - this was about a two hour process but I think it was worth it. I like the softness of this exposure. Love to hear your comments.

Another Wine Tasting

Saturday April 9th was a great day as the monthly wine tasting group got together once again and sampled lots of good wines. They also surprised Bob and I with a birthday cake as we both celebrate our birthdays in April - thanks Carol.  I shot this one before we made a mess. This is an HDR image shot with my Nikon D300s and is composed of 21 images.

Misquamicut Beach

Sam's Snack Bar  - Click on image to view panorama
After leaving Watch Hill because of the rain I drove along the shore and came to Misquamicut Beach.  The area is still boarded up for the winter. The sun was just coming up beyond the cloudy sky and I caught this at Sam's Snack Bar.  Another view of the shack is here.

Watch Hill

Early morning in Watch Hill. I was up at 4:00 this morning to drive to Watch Hill. I had intended to walk out to the end of Nappatree Point to shoot the sunrise,  but as I started to walk it began to rain.  Another day.  I shot this just as I started off. Not all was lost it turned out to be a much better morning as I headed east and as it got a bit later.  After a bagel and an orange juice I made it to the office an hour early and was able to stitch a couple of panoramas.
