Installing forms - HDR Image Overcooked

More HDRI Fun (Click image to view panorama)
Had some fun at work today shooting this image -- I like the grungy way it came out and thought I would post it here..  This image is composited from 35 exposures one stop apart and blended in Photomatix. Nothing like good clean fun to make a 'dirty' picture. Too much chromatic aberration, I may fix this before publication. This is a large, high resolution image so it will take a while to load.

Dramatic clouds over Pawtuxet Cove

Dramatic clouds - click image so see full picture
Saturday morning as Benny and I were getting the dinghy ready for launching these clouds moved by bringing a bit of rain. I got this shot with my fisheye lens and it really shows off the sky. . . click on the image above to see the full image. They were really spooky looking and very unusual, but we loved watching them - we had 5 minutes of really hard rain and a few lightning strikes but it all went by quite fast.

Summer Cruise 2011

Dock in Hadley Harbor - Click image to view gallery.
I have put together a gallery of images from our summer cruise. This year we left Pawtuxet Cove in Rhode Island and headed first to Fairhaven, MA. From there it was off to Onset, MA to anchor for the night before heading through the Cape Cod Canal and on to Boston. July 4th we arrived in Boston Harbor as the USS Constitution was finishing her once a year turn around. Missed it by 10 minutes. . . the joy of cruising at 7 knots. We stayed at a marina in Boston and saw the fireworks after a great dinner at the Old Ironsides Grille. On the morning of the 5th we toured the USS Constitution before heading out to Peddock Island, one of the many Boston Harbor Islands. A great night on a free mooring. The following morning we cruised across Massachusetts Bay to Provincetown and picked up a mooring there. Ptown has become such a touristy place that we were happy to leave in the morning even in the fog. We traveled back across the bay to the canal once again and on to Hadley Harbor where we planned to stay the night and ended up staying three nights. This place is just beautiful (see panorama in the post below). And then it was a quick skip home through 4 foot seas and into the flat calm of the bay to end another great cruise. The weather was fine, the food was outstanding the boats performed perfectly, but best of all, the friendship that will live in our hearts forever.

Hadley Harbor

Hadley Harbor, Elizabeth Islands, Massachusetts - Click Image to view Panorama
A view from the roof of Tapestry in Hadley Harbor, the sweetest anchorage in New England. This IS Shangri La! We stayed here for three nights during our summer cruise and hated to leave. All we did was swim and eat and hang out.. real vacation time.
