Cape Cod cranberry time

The Harvester - Click image for larger view
This past weekend we visited friends on Cape Cod and hiked through cranberry country and it was harvest time. Harvesting cranberries is fascinating to watch and it is all in slow motion. The colors are amazing as well.

Pumphouse and Cranberries - Click image for larger view
This bog was huge and the wind was assisting the harvest as all of the cranberries were blown to one side of the flooded bog.

Pumphouse - Click image for larger view
This pump house was operating and had two engines running inside - one Ford and one Chevy - both were operating on propane.

Yellow Capped Mushroom - Click image for larger view
Although I have posted this one already on Facebook I thought I would post it again here. We passed many mushrooms during our walk but this one stood out like a beacon.

Meredith C. Reinauer in East Providence

Meredith C. Reinauer - Click to view larger image
Another image from our evening cruise up to Providence. I love tugs and all working boats and got this shot just after sunset of the composite unit of the Meredith C. Reinauer and her barge at the fuel docks in East Providence. That is Providence in the background just across the Seekonk River. As with all my photos, prints are available.

Ray Pat

Ray Pay nearing Pawtuxet Cove
The other day as we were doing a short sunset cruise out of the cove, Ray Pat came cruising in. I believe that this is a 1955 Chris Craft Commander, a boat I have always loved. When I was about 10 years old I built a model of one of these and it sat on my bedroom shelf for years.  I always pictured Ernest Hemingway out fishing in the Gulf on one of these beautiful boats and dreamed of the day that I would go to sea.

Matunuck Construction HDR

On my way into work this morning I stopped at the construction site of the new pavilion at the East Matunuck Beach in southern Rhode Island. Vibco vibrators will be used in the consolidation of the concrete here and the pour was supposed to be first thing but has been postponed. It was great to be here just after sunrise and get this shot which I did in an overtly almost sinister grungy HDR style. Hopefully I will get some more good shots and great video when the pour happens. This really isn't my style but is a fun thing to mess with, especially with this sort of construction site.

A Roll in The Hay

We all went down to Escobar's Corn Maze in Portsmouth, RI to walk the maze, and had a great time. The kids had fun in the hay bales after the maze.  strung all my stills together to create this short clip.

The Orange Box

Sometimes you come across a scene that just reaches out to be shot. This is really a nothing scene with little to actually focus on but I liked the play between the blues and the orange. So I snapped it and messed with it a bit and got this... still needs a bit of work maybe, but I though it was worth posting.
